THE BEST 22 AT HOME DATE NIGHT IDEAS – WITH SLEEPING KIDS
-HUSH! THE KIDS ARE ASLEEP
The kids are tucked into bed and sound asleep. What do you do? Do you spend some quality time with your spouse or do you lie on different ends of the couch, barely speaking?
Spending time together as a couple and keeping the fire burning is important. But if you have kids, you might find yourself spending less and less time together.
-Even if you want to spend time with your husband, it’s not always that easy.
You might be working different shifts, be in a rut, your kids may be having a hard time falling asleep, or you’re just too tired at the end of the day.
Kids are truly the most joyful thing in life. But they do require a lot of attention, time and energy. Sometimes it feels like all we talk about is the kids. Who’s turn is it to put the kids to bed, who’s time is it to change the diaper and so on. Finding time to have a date night when you have young kids feels impossible sometimes.
Not all of us can even afford to go on dates every month. And if we would have to pay for a babysitter as well…Well, I find it hard to believe that we would even go on a date on our anniversary then.
That’s why I started researching for date night ideas that we can have at home! I came up with a list of 22 cheap, fun, and totally doable date night ideas that you can do at home while the kids are sleeping.Isn’t that awesome?
Put your kids down for the night, grab your husband, choose something to do from the list below, and get your dating on.
-HOW TO DATE AFTER BEDTIME:
– GIVE EACH OTHER MASSAGE
Is there a better way to boost your relationship and be sensual with each other than to give each other massage? By giving massage you’re forced to be intimate, the trust between you strengthens and let’s face it, it’s a great way to spend time together.
Giving a great massage can be difficult if you’re not a massage therapist that is. Before your first massage date night, learn how to give him a massage he wont forget.
-PLAY WOULD YOU RATHER
This game is so much fun, don’t you think? And there is a lot of differen the gross version t versions of this game so it never gets dull. You can play it with a politica twist, you can play (not for the easily disgusted), you could ask sport related questions.
Which ever twist you choose, it’s a great way of getting to know one another again and is, therefore, a great date night idea. You could even come up with your own questions, although you need to have some imagination.
– SPA DATE
I love going to the spa. It’s so refreshing and you walk out as a new and calmer person. But going to a spa costs a lot of money and you’ll need to get a babysitter as well.
It’s kinda like a karaoke bar. Just in your living room. If your kids are light sleepers, this one might not be for you. But otherwise, you should try some karaoke with your spouse. It’s intimate and a lot of fun.
A few years ago I sang Singstar every single day. I love to feel like a big rock star standing on a stage (Or in my case, the living room table). If you don’t want to invest in the game, you can head over to Youtube and search for Karaoke channels.
-ROMANTIC CANDLE NIGHT DINNER
This is a classic that doesn’t really need any explanation. Feed your kids dinner and then put them to bed. And when they’ve fallen asleep, you and your man can eat in peace and quiet By eating by yourselves you get a chance to reconnect and talk about something that’s more age appropriate for you.
Cook something that you both like or order in and set the mood by settings a romantic table.
– MOVIE MARATHON
Pop some popcorn, get out the snacks and wino and cuddle up on the sofa. A movie marathon usually has a theme. Like a decade, a director, an actor or a genre.
I usually find it hard to stay awake during one movie, yet alone two. But you can always watch the second movie the next night. If you need some ideas for your movie marathon, check out this list of movie marathon you need to have at least once.
-AROUND THE WORLD DATE NIGHT
Traveling to several different countries can be quite expensive. But you can always experience the food and culture of different countries right there in your kitchen.
The bundle includes dinner menu invitation for each country, recipe cards and activities inspired by the different countries. Ireland is my favorite.
